CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
The Corpus Christi Bayfront was dressed in pink on Tuesday to welcome the founder of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization.
Nancy G. Brinker, a breast cancer survivor, joined women and men of Corpus Christi as hundreds gathered for a luncheon at the Omni Bayfront Hotel. There, Brinker shared her inspirational story on how she started the organization.
"With a group of dedicated volunteers and friends, we had $200," Brinker said. "Two years later, Race for Cure and events, and now, the largest breast cancer organization in the world."
Thanks to Brinker and her organization, they have been able to make a difference in the communities, companies and countries across the world.
