Police Seek Warrant for Person of Interest in Hit and Run Case

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A person of interest in the hit and run accident of 17-year old Christian Carrillo appeared at the Corpus Christi Police Department at around 11 a.m. Wednesday.

The suspect did not give police any official statement, and thus did not turn himself in for the crime, but vital information regarding his name, address and the type of vehicle he drives was obtained by police. He was released soon after.

Police are now working to obtain a warrant, and once they have probable cause, he can then be arrested. This is a procedural process that aims to ensure that the individual is afforded due process.

Officials from the Corpus Christi Police Department said that they have interviewed many people regarding this case, and they are aggressively pursuing any leads. They are also interviewing the person of interest.
