Jim Wells County Traffic Stop Leads to Marijuana Bust

JIM WELLS COUNTY (Kiii News) -

A routine traffic stop in Jim Wells County led to a substantial drug bust Thursday.

The Jim Wells County Sheriff's Department stopped a Ford Explorer traveling north on Highway 281 just after 8 a.m. Inside, deputies found over 65 pounds of marijuana.

The drugs were found in 33 bundles, stashed inside of the gas tank. The 32-year old driver, who police said is from Mercedes, was arrested.
