International Dignitaries to Visit Food Bank of Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A group of international dignitaries will be making their way to Corpus Christi next week to get a look at the inner workings of our local food bank.

"They wanted to see a non-profit organization working, and how it impacts the community and the people," said Bea Hanson, executive director of the Food Bank of Corpus Christi.

The group, coming from North Africa, are a part of a State Department program that invites international leaders to come to the U.S. and learn about our culture. This particular group will be arriving on Monday.

The seven leaders and their translators will get a look at how the Food Bank works, and they are even going to volunteer. They will be separating foods and boxing them up for the public.

This is the first time our Food Bank has played host to this kind of group.
