CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
It was a special day for one local family as dozens of students from First Baptist School released butterflies in honor of a special needs woman.
The butterfly release was in honor of Carolyn Lee McGregor, a special needs woman who passed away in 2011.
The parents of Carolyn decided to make a donation to have the library at First Baptist renovated, and it was named Carolyn's Corner in the woman's honor.
"It brings joy to our hearts that we were able to bring to full realization that we wanted to show love for our daughter," said Mary Ann McGregor, Carolyn's mother. "And also, to be able to bring joy to the children of the church library."
Carolyn's parents said she loved nature and loved to be outside.
