Police make a disturbing discovery during a check up on a registered sex offender. Inside his home, they find pictures of children, drugs and that's not all.
3 News reporter Anayeli Ruiz spoke with neighbors of the sex offender.
Earlier Saturday morning, Corpus Christi Police went on a routine sex offender check that led to one man being sent to jail. Police say they found questionable items inside his home.
Senior Officer Chuck Freeman, Corpus Christi Police Department, says, "It's a serious crime especially when you are dealing with registered sex offenders...it could further go back to prison."
Police arrested 43-year old Larry Green. He was arrested at his parents home on the 9000 block of Redbud. Green lived in the shed behind his parents house. After police did a routine random sex offender check, they searched his home and found some marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.
Police also say they also found questionable items inside his home such as cut out pictures of kids from magazines, kids underwear and some DVDs.
Neighbors say they had no idea who was living just down their street.
"I didn't know about this," said Jeanne Anthony, neighbor. "very sickening to hear."
Green has been arrested for marijuana and drug paraphernalia charges. Police are continuing to investigate. More charges could come.
Police are also going to go through the evidence to see if it matches a charge and they will take it to the District Attorney.
Green has quite the record. Some of the cases date back to 1987. They range from burglary, drug offenses, assault, among others but in 2005 he was charged and convicted of possession of child pornography.
