Routine Traffic Stop Sends One Man Running, Police Recover Stole - KiiiTV3.com South Texas, Corpus Christi, Coastal Bend

A man faces charges this morning after a crime spree on the Island.

"We had a patrol officer notice a vehicle that had an expired registration on it, so he conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle," Art Treviño, Corpus Christi Police Lieutenant said. "During his investigation, he realized that there was possibly a lot of stolen property in the bed of the truck. As he was doing that the driver took off running."

After a short pursuit police caught the man around three Sunday afternoon.

Police say the truck itself was stolen from the Flour Bluff area Friday.
