Texas State Aquarium Searches for Missing Trumpeter Hornbill

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

The folks at the Texas State Aquarium need your help locating one of their main attractions: a Trumpeter Hornbill named Piper.

The bird has been missing since she got up in some strong winds during a training session on Saturday, and she has not been seen since.

Piper was fitted with a low-level transmitter, which is aiding in the search.

"All of our birds that fly have a transmitter on them," said Jesse Gilbert, the director of animal husbandry at the Texas State Aquarium. "Looking to pick up that radio signal."

If you have any information that can help locate Piper, please call the Texas State Aquarium at 361-881-1215.
