CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
A major power outage on the south side of town left a number of businesses and residents in the dark yesterday afternoon.
Here's a photo sent in by one of our viewers as crowds were forced to exit the Dollar Theater at Sunrise Mall following the outage, which happened around 5 p.m. Monday.
Over 3,000 customers were left without power, including all of Sunrise Mall, Moore Plaza, and several residential neighborhoods.
AEP says the outage was due to 'equipment failure' at the Airline substation.
Power has since been restored.
