CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
A truck crashing into a Blockbuster video store at the intersection of Gollihar and Kostoryz Tuesday morning caused extensive damage to the building.
"Well, I was just sitting up in there getting videos, and then all of a sudden I heard a sound," witness Arthur Medrina said. "I thought it was shots."
No one was injured in the mishap, but Corpus Christi police said the driver of the truck appeared to be under the influence, and his passenger took off on foot. He was later apprehended a few blocks away from the scene.
"The driver is the one that was exhibiting signs of impairment," said Lt. Israel Soza of the Corpus Christi Police Department. "He looked like he was hallucinating, so we're going to be doing a blood warrant on him and he will be charged accordingly."
There has been no word on whether or not the passenger will face any charges, and no estimate on the amount of damage caused to the building.
