All eyes where on Saint Peter's Square Wednesday as the Vatican conclave elected a pope from the New World for the first time.

It is the first time the Roman Catholic Church has elected a pope from the America's. Former Cardinal-Archbishop Jorge Bergoglio of Argentina is now named Pope Francis I.
