Duval County Authorities Seize Cash Allegedly Linked to 8-Liners
SAN DIEGO (Kiii News) -
During a traffic stop Thursday morning on Highway 44, Duval County Sheriff's Department deputies seized $49,080 in cash believed to come from three 8-liner game rooms.
The stop was made at around 1:35 a.m. After questioning the occupants of the red Ford pickup, two men and three women, investigators determined that the large sum of cash was connected to three different 8-liner game rooms in San Diego.
No arrests were made, but the cash was seized.
Sheriff Romeo Ramirez said that there will be no further warnings for 8-liner establishments that are operating illegally. If they determine that any of the game rooms are giving cash payouts, the money will be seized and the business will be shut down.
The sheriff also said that there will likely be arrests in the near future.
