IceRays Players Hit the Pavement to Help Local Military
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
The Corpus Christi IceRays took a break from the ice Saturday and hit the pavement instead. The 2nd annual "Street Hockey Challenge" took place in front of the American Bank Center. The event benefits the USO. The event was a way for fans to test their own skills against their favorite players. All they had to do was donate canned goods which will benefit our local military and their families. The IceRays head coach Justin Quenneville said, "its an opportunity we couldn't turn down and obviously we're fortunate to have CPL partner with us. It's just another day to get out and interact with the community and build those values we cherish."
For anyone who donated, fans received a free ticket to next weekend's IceRays game.
