CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
The battle over street maintenance fees is expected to take center stage at city hall this week.
Assistant City Manager Oscar Martinez explains that the money generated from the fee will be used for street maintenance - like seal coating - rather than heavy repair.
Council members have already agreed to charge residents $7 a month on their utility bills.
They will continue discussions tomorrow on how to charge businesses for the work.
A second reading of the ordinance is also required before going into effect.
