Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A man attempting to drive himself to the hospital after allegedly being struck in the head by a bottle passed out at the wheel and struck two parked vehicles.

It happened at the 2100 block of Patton, near Holly Road. An employee at a nearby business rushed to check if the driver was okay, and said that the man was bleeding heavily from his face.

"He already had a towel on the seat that was full of blood, and his head was drenched in blood," witness Felix Salinas said. "And he was wobbly. I don't know if it was getting hit from the bottle or from hitting these cars here."

The driver told the employee that he was struck with a bottle by his girlfriend at a home on Woodhaven, and was attempting to drive himself to the hospital.

Police responded to the scene of the accident, and the driver was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries. There has been no word as to whether or not he will face any citations.
