University of Illinois Students Help Build Affordable Homes in Corpus Christi
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
19 students from the University of Illinois Habitat for Humanity are here this week to help build homes for families in need of affordable housing.
The students are participating in Habitat for Humanity's "National Alternative Break Program."
Habitat for Humanity Corpus Christi is hosting the students until Friday.
"We get to help out a lot, the people who are in need.," said Bobby Pollard from Homer Glen, Illinois. "We have a great time meeting other people from other parts of the country and help build a house which is a great opportunity."
Habitat for Humanity's Collegiate College Program has donated more than $20 million to habitat affiliates.
