Police Investigating Person of Interest in Pharmacy Robberies
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Police are investigating whether or not a man who has admitted to burglarizing a home is the same person responsible for recent rash of holdups at local pharmacies.
The break in the case came after 35-year old Leonel Lozano was arrested on Tuesday for an aggravated robbery. Officers caught up with him in the afternoon on the 600 block of Glazebrook.
Police said Lozano admitted to a home invasion that happened earlier in March on Gordon Street. They suspect the same man might be responsible for several robberies of CVS and Walgreens pharmacies in the last week and a half.
The first one occurred back on March 7, when the suspect hit the CVS on the 3200 block of South Alameda. Last week, he hit yet another CVS, as well as a Walgreens. In each robbery, the suspect flashed a knife and demanded cash.
Police have not officially charged Lozano with the crimes.
