ARANSAS PASS (Kiii News) -

The Purple Potty Fundraiser, a new way that Relay for Life is raising money to fight cancer, kicked off in the Aransas Pass and Ingleside area on Tuesday.

A real purple commode is making its way to various area businesses and homes. Folks can donate $25 to send the potty to a friend, $15 to have the potty removed from your yard, $30 to keep the potty from coming back to your yard, and $25 to send it to a specific friend.

"It's just something that's fun to do, and it's a fun way for us to raise money," said LeAnne Vaillette of Relay for Life in Aransas Pass and Ingleside. "Why relayers chose a toilet, I can't tell you, but that's what we're doing. That's what I had available, so that's what we're doing."

The toilet is currently at Bill's Auto Supply in Ingleside.

All proceeds from the fundraiser go to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life for Aransas Pass-Ingleside.

For more information, contact Cindy Evans at 361-205-7325 or LeAnne Vaillette at 361-205-0045.
