CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A vehicle crashed into a southside home on Monarch and Sunlight Drive just after 3 a.m. Wednesday.

"We have a collision with a house," said Nicholas Kless of the Corpus Christi Police Department. "We don't know who the driver was. We have damage to the house, damage to the vehicles, and damage to the vehicle that was driven here."

Police said a red Mustang slammed into three vehicles before crashing into the garage of the house. Witnesses said a woman got out of the driver's side door and ran away.

Just before that crash, police were already responding to a similar accident involving a car and a shed. It happened around 2:30 a.m. on Airline and Gollihar.

Investigators said the car was heading eastbound on Gollihar when it ran off the road and struck the building. The driver behind the wheel also fled the scene.

Police said they are in the process of identifying the owner of the vehicle.
