Students Collect Diapers for Local USO

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

It's tough and expensive enough to be a parent, right? Today, some local kids decided to help our military parents.

Students at Meadowbrook elementary held a diaper drive.

All the diapers collected are going to the local USO at NAS-Corpus Christi and will be given to parents in uniform who need them.

Students at Meadowbrook hope others will follow their example.

"Our students in Pre-K through 5th grade donated everything on the stage. We collected baby items for military families in our community. The items we collected include: diapers, wipes, bottles, toys, bibs, and baby clothes. We would like to challenge other schools to collect items for the USO.

The students collected so much in a two week period, organizers haven't even begun to count it all.
