Thief Targets Corner Store, Clerk Fights for Cash Register

A thief targets a Corpus Christi grocery store but gets away with nothing. It happened this morning at the Smiley's Grocery Store in the 800 block of South 19th Street. Police say the robber walked to the counter where he tried to grab the entire register. However, the clerk was not having it and prevented the man from grabbing any loot. Although, he did leave some property behind that police have used to identify the suspect, the investigation is on-going. If you have information call Crime Stoppers at 888-TIPS.

    Corpus Christi Police say two people are under arrest for capital murder in connection to the death of a 6-year-old boy, Wednesday night. Officers have not yet released the names of the suspects, or their relationship with the child.The death happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of Fig St. Emergency Medical Services responded to a report of the boy having seizures; he was rushed to Driscoll Children's Hospital where he later died.More >>
