Selena Fans Pay Respects on Singer's Birthday

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Selena Quintanilla-Perez would have been celebrating her 42nd birthday on Tuesday had she lived, and her fans were remembering.

Members of Selena's enduring fan base gathered Tuesday at her final resting place in Seaside Memorial Park. Selena was born on April 16, 1971, in Lake Jackson, Texas, and on Tuesday, many who visited left keepsakes and other memorabilia.

Of course, Selena, who was at the time the reigning queen of Tejano music, was fatally shot by the president of her fan club. It happened at the old Days Inn Motel on Navigation back in March of 1995.
