Police Respond to Multiple Motorcycle Accidents Thursday

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A couple of motorcycle crashes tied up early morning traffic on Thursday.

The Corpus Christi Police Department said excessive speed was the cause of a motorcycle crash on Spohn Drive near Staples.

Investigators said a motorcyclist did not notice a van pulling into the doctor's office. He tried to avoid hitting the van, causing him to lose control and crash his bike.

The cyclist was taken to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital with internal injuries.

Just moments before that accident, investigators were clearing another motorcycle accident on Ennis Joslin near Alameda.

Police said a motorcyclist did not notice a City garbage truck picking up trash and swerved to avoid it. The driver lost control of his bike, veered over and skidded until the bike struck the median.

The driver escaped with no serious injuries, other than some road rash.
