Pastor Freddy Naranjo was going to turn it into a church. Now, the owner of an old elementary school is left wondering what he will do after the building went up in flames overnight. The Corpus Christi Fire Department provided some intense pictures of the blaze. The fire happened Friday night at 11 on the 1500 block of Peabody. It's the site of the old Crossley Elementary School. The elementary school has been closed for more than a decade. Pastor Freddy Naranjo of the Tabernacle of Praise Church said, "the flames were shooting everywhere. It took off to the other side of the two story building. They just couldn't turn it off." The school has no power or gas to the building and no one was in the building when the fire started, so fire officials are now investigating how it started. Some neighbors say there were some kids playing around the school before the fire began.
