CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Police need your help solving a case that started with a fire and ended with the death of a local man. There is a strong belief that the fire was intentional, and police are looking for a suspect.

It was around 7 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, when a person saw smoke coming from a rear apartment of a house on the 1500 block of Seventh Street. The person quickly called the Corpus Christi Fire Department to put out the fire.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and found a deceased 21-year old man inside the apartment. Arson investigators believe the fire was intentionally set, and the Nueces County Medical Examiner's Office has ruled the 21-year old man's death as a homicide.

Detectives now need your help to provide information about anyone who left the rear apartment before the fire was called in to emergency crews.
