President Attends Memorial Service for Victims of West Explosion
WEST, Texas (Kiii News) - President Barack Obama, along with the First Lady, attended a memorial in the small town of West, Texas, on Thursday.
The service was held for those killed in the massive explosion at a local fertilizer plant last week. Kiii-TV's sister station in Waco, KCEN, provided footage from the event.
A row of 12 coffins, each draped with a flag, symbolized those first responders that died in the blast. Hundreds of firefighters and other first responders from across the nation joined the grieving families at the Ferrell Center in Waco, where the memorial service was held.
