Corpus Christi (kiii sports)- The Moody Trojans kept their District 31-4A baseball record spotless at the expense of a Flour Bluff team that needed a win to make the playoffs.
Michael Cantu gave up a late home run, but tallied 13 strikeouts to move to 8-0 in his first season with the Trojans.
The Bluff took an early 1-0 lead on Kolton Mims' double in the 1st inning on a foggy, misty night at Cabaniss Field.
The Trojans rallied to take a 4-1 lead in the 5th inning, then held off the Hornets to post the 4-3 win. Moody closes the regular season on Friday night at Laredo Nixon.
Flour Bluff must beat Miller on Friday night and hope that Ray beats Laredo Martin. Otherwise, the Hornets will miss the playoffs.
