CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

An arson investigation has ended with an arrest.  The suspect is now in a burn unit in San Antonio after police say he was injured while setting the fire. It happened in the 800 block of Cheyenne St.  The suspect ran from the scene but he did not get far.

Police immediately put out the description of the man's SUV and minutes later the vehicle had crashed into two other vehicles at Ayers and SPID.  When police arrived on the scene the suspect tried to run away again, but police were able to catch up to the man.  Police say the suspect smelled of alcohol on his breath.  He also had burns on his arms, his face was red, and his clothing smelled of gasoline.

Anayeli Ruiz is following up on this story and has the latest.  Check out her report from 3 News at 5:30.
