Bad Weather Halts Softball Playoffs

Posted: Updated:

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii Sports) - Heavy rain and lightning stopped three area high school softball playoff games last night. 7th-ranked Woodsboro and Benavides never threw a pitch last night in Sinton after a wave of storms passed over. They will try again at 4:30 on Tuesday afternoon in Sinton.

Bad weather also kept Refugio and Cotulla from starting their one-game playoff in Refugio. No word yet on when or where it will be played on Tuesday.

Aransas Pass and Jourdanton were rained out last night in George West. School officials are also looking for an alternative site for Tuesday evening.

The only game in the area that DID get played was in Falfurrias. The Lady Jerseys lost to Odem 9-2, Odem now advances to Round Two of the softball playoffs against Industrial.
