Flour Bluff Looks to Make More Softball History

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii Sports) - The Flour Bluff softball team won its first-ever postseason game last Friday night when the Hornets beat Mission Veterans Memorial.

That win propelled the Bluff into the second round of the state softball playoffs for the first time in school history. It's an accomplishment relished by veteran coach Troy Owens and his team, which includes seven sophomore starters.

Next up for the Hornets will be a Best-of-Three series with Gregory-Portland, which won the District 30-4A title. Game one is set for Thursday night in Portland.
