BISD trustees vote to have three seats on November ballot

The Beaumont Independent School Board of Trustees Monday voted to have three seats up for election in November, not all seven.  The vote was made in a special meeting Monday night.

Just last Tuesday, Judges in Washington DC ruled that there would not an election in May.

BISD Attorney Melody Chappel said in the meeting that the judges wanted the board to decide as soon as possible whether all seats would be up for election.

The three incumbents up for re-election will be Janice Brassard, Gwen Ambres and Tom Neild.

The board also voted to allow Chappel to take final steps to cancel the May election.
