Eagle Ford Shale Conference & Expo in Robstown

ROBSTOWN (Kiii News) -

Over 100 exhibitors from the Eagle Ford Shale play gathered in Robstown Wednesday to show off their goods and services, and to network with each other.

Texas Oil & Gas Magazine was putting on its first annual Eagle Ford Shale Conference & Expo at the Richard Borchard Regional Fairgrounds in Robstown. The exhibitors on-hand covered different parts of the oil field industry.

Organizers said the gathering is much needed, and they hope to grow it and bring it back year after year.

"This is an opportunity for smaller companies that can't go to Houston to these national conferences and national expos, to get somewhat of a taste of what it is to network with these larger companies who have been in the Eagle Ford Shale or may have been in other shale plays in Texas," said Jennifer Larivey, vice president of Texas Oil & Gas Magazine.

Congressman Blake Farenthold was the keynote speaker at Wednesday's event. He said it is important to strike while the iron is hot, and to not waste the God-given resources involved in the Eagle Ford Shale play.
