Motorcyclists are often the most vulnerable drivers on the road, and more often than not, they are the hardest to see.
Last year in Texas, 460 motorcyclists lost there lives in accidents. Here in Corpus Christi, five riders were killed.
In hopes of saving lives, the Texas Department of Transportation and the Corpus Christi Police Department announced Tuesday a campaign called "Look Twice." The campaign asks motorist to take a second look when changing lanes and when traveling through intersections.
The campaign is also asking motorists to be proactive as well.
"I've seen many people ride around town with their helmet strapped to the motorcycle," CCPD Chief Floyd Simpson said.
Recent studies have shown that motorcycle deaths have actually been going down in the last couple of years, mostly crediting the use of helmets.
