Christian Carrillo Makes Tremendous Progress After Intense Therapy

Posted: Updated:
HOUSTON (Kiii News) -

It has been more than two months since 17-year old Christian Carrillo, the victim of a hit and run accident on March 3, was left fighting for his life.

Carrillo was allegedly struck by 39-year old Eric Daniel Acevedo near the intersection of Ayers and Sunnybrook.

Since then, the recovery process has had its ups and downs, but despite that, Carrillo is making incredible progress in his rehabilitation at the Texas Institute Rehabilitation and Research Hospital in Houston.

Kiii News Anchor Rudy Trevino went Live from the hospital in Houston with the latest details on Carrillo's progress.

The TIRR Hospital in Houston is known throughout the world as one of, if not the, best facilities for treatment of brain injuries. Carrillo's transformation, the therapy he is receiving and the results because of it, are nothing short of miraculous.

In just one short week, Carrillo has gone from not being able to walk, to running; from not being able to speak, to thanking everyone who has helped him.

Carrillo's mother, Misty Taylor, said the intense therapy at TIRR is the reason for her son's amazing transformation, and the good work only tells part of the story. Carrillo is also putting in a lot of effort.
