Dr. Scott Elliff, superintendent of the Corpus Christi Independent School District, gave the public a chance to get answers to their questions on Thursday.
Elliff addressed parents with concerns at an event called Coffee with the Superintendent. Parents gathered at Luby's Cafeteria near Greenwood and SPID, where Elliff tackled the issues of testing inside the school district, consolidation of schools and the need to have more school bus drivers.
"We do have a shortage of bus drivers. That's a statewide concern, and it's a real concern because we have competition for bus drivers because of Eagle Ford Shale," Elliff said. "I'm sure we are going to do that for years to come actually."
Elliff also provided an update on the progress of bond projects, as well as highlighting other district initiatives.
