Emergency Responders Prepare for Hurricane Season

Posted: Updated:
ROBSTOWN (Kiii News) -

All this week, emergency responders from around Texas are gathering at the Richard Borchard Fairgrounds in Robstown to make sure they're prepared for a hurricane.

Monday marked the beginning of the thirst annual Coastal Bend Hurricane Conference. It's a week-long conference that is expected to bring in over 500 area government officials.

The goal of the conference is to plan and make sure our Coastal Bend counties are prepared in case this turns out to be the year when a large tropical storm system comes to the area.

The official start of hurricane season is June 1, and runs all the way through November.
