Javelinas One Win Away From D-II College World Series

KINGSVILLE (Kiii Sports) - The Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas are now just one win away from the Divison-II College World Series after topping St. Edward's Saturday night 6-2.

The Javelinas jumped out to an early 4-0 lead on the Hilltoppers after the top of the 3rd, and never looked back.

A&M-Kingsville will face the winner of St. Mary's and St. Edward's in the South Central Region Championship tomorrow at 4 p.m. down at Nolan Ryan Field. St. Mary's and St. Edward's play in the early game at 1 p.m.

The winner of the region championship game will head to Cary, North Carolina for the Division-II College World Series.

    Two Edinburg Police Officers are recovering after they were shot Tuesday evening in La Joya as they attempted to serve a capital murder warrant. The suspect in the shooting, 29-year-old Joaquin Cibrian, was shot and killed following an exchange of gunfire with law enforcement. Cibrian was arrested in September of last year in Alice for allegedly using city equipment and materials to make extra cash. He was a city employee at the time.More >>
