Sinton Pirates Looking For Return To State Tournament

Posted: Updated:

SINTON (Kiii Sports) - The 2013 Sinton Pirates aren't about living up to their storied past: they're all about adding their own chapter to the school's history.

Sinton will take on La Grange in the region final in a one-game series Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Victoria's Riverside Stadium.

The Pirates have taken home three state championships, but none since 2002. Sinton is looking to make its first appearance in Austin in six years.

The Pirates swept Boerne in the region semifinals this past weekend, with both games getting shifted up to Shiner, TX due to the weather. The Sinton players and head coach Gene Kasprzyk say that experience of the long bus ride, and numerous weather delays actually brought the team closer together moving forward.
