Coastal Bend College Receives $50,000 to help Military Veterans

Coastal Bend College will receive $50,000 as part of the "Operation Next" initiative to help provide support for veterans in the form of tuition, scholarships, fees, books, or supplies for an oil, gas, and petroleum degree and/or continuing education programs. 

DCP Midstream which is the largest producer of natural gas liquids, and the largest private company in Denver is behind "Operation Next."

The program will support counseling and job training efforts in Colorado, Texas, and Oklahoma.

A ceremony will be held on Tuesday June 11, 2013 at the CBC Beeville campus for a check presentation and press conference.

    Corpus Christi Police say two people are under arrest for capital murder in connection to the death of a 6-year-old boy, Wednesday night. Officers have not yet released the names of the suspects, or their relationship with the child.The death happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of Fig St. Emergency Medical Services responded to a report of the boy having seizures; he was rushed to Driscoll Children's Hospital where he later died.More >>
