Boys & Girls Club Offers Free Summer Lunch Program

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A free summer lunch program is in full swing at the Boys & Girls Club of Corpus Christi, located at 3900 Greenwood Drive.

The Club is offering free lunch meals to kids up to 18 years of age. The meals are served from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. They even serve snacks from 3-3:30 p.m. Officials of the non-profit organization said kids do not have to even be a member, and all children are welcomed.

"It helps a lot," say LaMaya Davis, who enjoys the free lunches. "It's better than school food, I can tell you that, but they serve healthy stuff."

The funds for the free lunches come from a grant from the Texas Department of Agriculture. The Summer Food Service program will run through Aug. 2.
