Posted: Updated:

With illegal immigration issues playing out in Brooks County, investigators are receiving assistance from leading state universities.

An anthropologist from Baylor is helping identify remains discovered throughout the county. Last month, several bodies were found in the Falfurrias Cemetery. These photographs show the condition several bodies were found.

"Approximately 63 bodies, they were taken up to Texas State," Benny Martinez, Brooks County Chief Deputy said. "Texas State is also going to assist Baylor, and do the DNA."

Chief Deputy Martinez says it could take two-years before they receive the results. The goal is to bring closure to families.
