David Alvarez Bond Hearing Postponed

A bond reduction hearing for 31-Year Old David Alvarez was postponed Friday morning. Alvarez was arrested last week in connection with the death of 25-Year Old Aaron Juarez. The bond for Alvarez has been set at $200,000.

Friday morning, 31 year-old David Alvarez walked into Nueces County Court and asked the court to reduce his bond. Sitting in the courtroom the family of 25-year old Aaron Juarez. For the first time the family of the victim came face to face with the man accused of murdering their loved one. The medical examiners office confirmed that Juarez died after he was punched in the face and his head hit the concrete. The family was very emotional when they saw Alvarez in front of them. They tell us it wasn't easy being there but they feel like they need to be a part of the process.

"Just seeing the man. I just have a lot of mixed emotions, obviously I feel angry but I just miss my son," said Fabian Juarez, father of Aaron Juarez.

The judge in the case re-scheduled the bond hearing for June 27th. Alvarez's attorney says he did not know his client was out on bond for a DWI prior to the assault. This week the family of Aaron Juarez started circulating a petition that hopes to sway the judge not to reduce Alvarez's bond. The petition is  called justice for Aaron Vincent Juarez .
