9-Year-Old Judo Prodigy Competes at Junior Olympics
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii Sports) - Christian Konoval looks like any nine year old, with the exception that he's in amazing shape, and has a chance to compete in the Judo Junior Olympic National Championships this weekend.
Konoval picked up the sport of Judo just over a year ago, but he's already racked up several medals from local tournaments, and is now looking for a spot on the U.S. national junior team. The fourth grader runs two miles a day and works out for over three hours during the summer. His sensei says the sports makes him not only mentally strong, but extremely physically fit.
