CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Two people were rescued from a burning sport fishing boat by a Customs and Border Protection boat crew who discovered their boat on fire about 11:40 a.m. on Friday.  The boat was discovered just off the shores of Lydia Ann Island.  The crew aboard the CBP Interceptor class boat rescued them from the 46 foot boat, Wired, and brought them to Coast Guard Station Port Aransas.  The Coast Guard has a 100 yard safety zone in place around the boat and will continue to monitor the situation in coordination with the Texas General Land Office.
