Nuisance Home Demolished in Less than Three Minutes
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
A northside home suspected of becoming a haven for criminal activity and a quality-of-life concern for the neighborhood was torn down on Tuesday -- in less than three minutes.
The Nuisance Abatement Team said it took them less than three minutes to bring down the home at 2200 Coleman. According to the Corpus Christi Police Department, numerous complaints were called in about the burnt out structure.
After moving through a series of procedures to seize the property, the City's final step was the demolition of the structure, which the City says will improve the quality of life in the neighborhood.
"We really want to start targeting properties and really crack down," Code Enforcement Supervisor Tracy Cantu said. "But really, there's a lot of common issues. We wanted to come together as a combined group, to address these problems."
A company named Ram-Bro Contracting, Inc., provided the equipment and manpower to demolish the structure at no cost to the City.
