Council Approves Tax Abatement Measure for New Kinney Hotel
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
City Council members approved a tax abatement that will clear the way for a new boutique hotel to be built along the Corpus Christi Bayfront.
The second and final reading for the measure took place at Tuesday's City Council meeting. The measure will give an eight-year tax abatement for the Kinney Hotel to be built.
15 local businessmen have joined forces to build the hotel, which will go up on Born Street, near Water Street and Shoreline Boulevard. It will consist of 54 rooms, and construction should begin within the next 30-90 days.
