Investigators Continue Search for Source of Holmes Drive Explosion

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

The Corpus Christi Fire Marshal said it is very possible that they may never know what sparked the July 12 house explosion on Holmes Drive.

Investigators were back on the scene Wednesday, at the home where the blast originated, this time with heavy equipment like bulldozers to help them sift through debris. Among the investigators were representatives for manufacturers of the different appliances that were inside that home.

The impact of the blast extended out at least a quarter of a mile in all directions. 25-year old Ryan Conner, a victim of the blast, is said to be improving, and is reportedly out of ICU. He's been recovering at a San Antonio Burn Unit since the blast occurred.

At this point, they haven't been able to find the source of the blast. The fire marshal said they cannot speculate, and that is why they are looking at everything they can to figure it out.
