Police Suspect Driver Who Hit Apartment Home was Intoxicated
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Police suspect that a woman was driving while intoxicated when she crashed her vehicle into an apartment home on Pennington and Alameda just after 9 p.m. Thursday.
The driver barely missed hitting a man who was in bed inside the home.
Damage to the home has been estimated to cost at least $12,000 to repair. The homeowner, Dean Roach, said he had just sat down to eat dinner when he thought he heard a house explode. A nearby neighbor describe hearing something similar.
"When it hit, it sounded like a bomb going off," Mickey Allen said. "It sounded pretty nasty."
The 28-year old driver was given several tickets, including driving without a license. She did have her blood drawn and it will be tested for alcohol.
