2013 CARE T-Shirts for Cancer Awareness on Sale Now
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
The Corpus Christi Fire Department will soon be wearing pink, now that a non-profit group called CARE is ready to sell their 2013 edition t-shirts.
CARE is an acronym for Cancer Awareness Relief Effort. Their goal is to sell the pink shirts to the community in an effort to raise money in the fight against all forms of cancer. All of the money they raise will stay in Corpus Christi.
"They're popular. You see them everywhere. Last year they were blue," said Lester Garza, president of the Corpus Christi CARE Campaign. "We are pretty proud of that. Everyone needs to get one. We need to sell 10,000 shirts."
To purchase a CARE t-shirt, you can go to the Corpus Christi Firefighters Association Union Hall at 6014 Ayers Street between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Shirts from youth through XL cost $12, and larger sizes cost $15.
