Thanks to the generosity of CPL, 75 kids will be going back to school with new clothing after the retail energy company took them on a $100 shopping spree. The event, which provides back-to-school clothing for students from all over the Coastal Bend, took place at J.C. Penny's in La Palmera Mall Friday morning."Feeling confident about themselves and getting a good routine going right off the bat is very important for kids," said Sarah Updegrove, southwest regional manager of CPL Retail Energy."I think it's good. My family doesn't have that much money," said Isaac Salinas, a student at Cunningham Middle School. "It's good that they gave us $100 to get something for school."This is the eighth year that CPL Retail Energy has sponsored the program.
